This Privacy Policy describes how Siftly (“the Extension”) handles user data. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring a transparent, secure browsing and data-export experience.
The Extension is designed as a local productivity tool for data extraction.
No Remote Servers: We do not own, operate, or maintain any external databases or remote servers to collect your scraped information.
No Data Collection: We do not collect, monitor, track, or upload your browsing history, scraped website data, or personal credentials.
No Selling of Data: Because we do not collect your data, we never sell, trade, rent, or monetize your information in any way.
A. Scraped Content (E-Commerce & Listing Data)
When you actively click the extraction button on supported platforms (such as Etsy or Fiverr), the Extension reads visible webpage data (including product titles, prices, currency formats, rating counts, and listing tags) in real time.
Where it is stored: This data is written directly to your browser’s sandboxed memory pool using Chrome’s secure local storage API (chrome.storage.local).
Your Control: You can instantly wipe this database at any time by clicking the “Clear” button inside the Extension’s popup menu.
B. User Settings
The Extension stores your configuration choices (such as active workspace targets or visual preference toggles) locally in your browser.
To perform its core utility, the Extension requests minimal browser permissions under the Principle of Least Privilege:
storage: Required to cache scraped listing rows locally on your hard drive so you can export them to CSV or JSON formats.
Host Permissions (://.etsy.com/, *://.fiverr.com/*): Required to allow the content script to run on supported marketplace domains to detect listing cards and run the smooth-scrolling algorithm.
The Extension operates independently of the websites it scrapes. We are not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with Etsy, Fiverr, or any other scraped platform. All platform names and logos are trademarks of their respective owners.
All operations are executed within the sandboxed environment of your Google Chrome browser. Your data is protected by Google Chrome’s native security boundaries. Because no data is transmitted over the internet to us, there is no risk of interceptive database breaches on our part.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our Extension’s functionality or Chrome Web Store policy requirements. Any updates will be posted directly to this page with an updated “Last Updated” date.
